A guest would check out on a Sunday and ask, on the way to the car, whether it was worth driving to Nyanga or flying to the falls. We answered that question enough times that it became a business.

What we sell is knowing the country. Which month the Mana Pools road is passable. Which Hwange waterhole is being pumped this season. Whether a party of nine is better on one houseboat or two. That is not information you get from a booking engine, and it is the whole reason to use an agency that is actually in Zimbabwe.

We book the tour and everything around it — flights, visas, transfers, beds — so there is one itinerary and one person to call. And because we run a lodge ourselves, we know what a bad handover looks like from the receiving end.
